Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes & 3rd Crossover Book

Recently, Rick Riordan released that he will be releasing one of his new books soon.  It's going to be Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes.  Nope, not Greek Gods, Greek Heroes.  Once again, like the first one, Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes will include Percy's witty writing, and John Rocco's amazing color filled illustrations.  Also, the third crossover book for Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Sadie and Carter Kane will be released under the name of The Crown of Ptolemy.  And for all of you missing the Percy POV,  I heard from a little birdy it will be a Percy-only POV.  Not much else has been released but,  I shall sign off with the newly released cover for 'Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes'.

The Sword Of Summer - Sneak Peak And Review

Wow! Look a new Rick Riordan book appeared! Hmm... Let's see...

Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother's mysterious death, he's lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he's tracked down by an uncle he's never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. His uncle tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god. The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision. Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . .

Hmm... wait. What was that last part again?

When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision. Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . .

Um, repeat?

Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . .

*slow clap*
Great message there, Rick!  Because death is obviously a reset button. Right? Yea.
So... Yea um lets just go to the review part.
I think we pretty much know at this point that Annabeth Chase has to be related to Magnus Chase, cousin or brother? I have no idea.  But... hm... lets look at the clues.  Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid,  I smell a demigod...  Maybe he'll meet with Percy Jackson! But wait- this seems vaguely familiar...
It's on the tip of my tongue... What was it called again? Hmmm...
I'll probably remember it later...

But in all seriousness, I feel like The Sword of Summer will be turned into a crossover, maybe the Latin/Greek/Egyptian/Norse Demigods will all come together and like- I don't know, inspire countless Fanfictions, maybe?  Honestly, to end this my last statement is this: This was a really good choice on Rick's part.  With this he will be able to even make a whole new series with all of the different demigods coming together to defeat a common enemy.  Like The Heroes Of Olympus series, the Latin and Greek demigods came together to fight a common enemy, and I can't wait for the book Magnus Chase and The Sword of Summer to come out, and I hope you can't wait either...

Wait- 10/06/15 ?!!?1?

Suggested Books

Here are some books that's I've read after the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series that I enjoyed, so hopefully you all will too! If you have any suggestions to add to the list, comment below and I'll check them out!

  • The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan
This is another very great Rick Riordan book.  This book is for you if you want to expand from just Greek/Roman mythology.  It's basically about two siblings, Carter and Sadie, and they're discovery of Ancient Egyptian mythology.  There are currently three books in the series: The Red Pyramid, The Throne Of Fire, and finally, The Serpents Shadow.  There also crossovers with the Percy Jackson series, if you still want a little Percy Jackson in there.  There is the Percy Jackson/Carter Kane crossover in The Son Of Sobek, which comes with a sneak peek of The House of Hades, the forth installment in The Heroes Of Olympus series.  And there is also the newest crossover with Annabeth Chase/Sadie Kane, The Staff Of Serapis, which includes a sneak peak of the fifth and final book of The Heroes Of Olympus series, The Blood Of Olympus.  Both the original series and the crossovers alike are very exciting and action-filled as Percy Jackson, so if you liked The Percy Jackson and The Olympians series, I would highly recommend this series/crossover(s).

Google Book Previews:
The Red Pyramid
The Throne Of Fire
The Serpent's Shadow
The Son Of Sobek
The Staff Of Serapis

  • Fangirl By Rainbow Rowell
This book is pretty amazing.  It's all about Cath, a girl going into college who LOVES writing Fanfiction. She writes about her favorite two book characters, Simon Snow and Baz.  You go along with Cath as she goes through her hard life in college.  Did I mention she has a twin sister named Wren?  This may not be your type of book, but I would say to at least try it.

  • Seal Of Destiny by Jason Strong
This is actually just a really good Fanfiction on Fanfiction.com by an author that goes by the name of Jason Strong.  It may not count as a 'book', but this Fanfiction is still really good.  Its all about before the Titan War, back when Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus agreed to no more kids and why they made their decisions.  This is personally my favorite Percy Jackson Fanfiction.  I suggest you go check it out below.

Seal Of Destiny

  • Matched by Ally Condie
This trilogy by Ally Condie really surprised me every single page I turned in this best-selling book trilogy.  The books in this include Matched, Crossed, and finally, Reached.  This trilogy is all about a girl named Cassia Reyes and her life in the dystopian future, where the government decides who you love, where you work, and when you die.  When she turns 17 and is going to her Choosing Ceremony, where she finds out who she will marry, she sees her best friend Xander appear on the screen for her Choosing Ceremony, and she is sure everything is right where it should be... that is until another face flickered on the screen at the last moment, because then everything goes wrong.  I would highly suggest this book if you read the Hunger Games/ Divergent trilogies.

Google Books Previews:
Matched
Crossed
Reached

  • And lastly, The Maze Runner by James Dashner
Thomas is brought up without any memory of who is, even where he is from.  He has no memory of his past or anyone from it.  He is brought up in a box to the Glade, a place filled with about 50 boys of all ages, and they work together to get out of the Glade.  Soon Thomas gets used to living in the Glade with the boys and the Maze that surrounds they're Glade, that is until a girl appears one day with a ominous message "WICKED Is Good"...  This is probably one of my favorite book series ever (next to Percy Jackson, of course...), and it includes The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure, the prequel, The Kill Order, and finally the sequel to the prequel, The Fever Code which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2016.  I would HIGHLY recommend this book to all the Percy Jackson fans who need a little break from mythology.

Google Book Previews:
The Maze Runner
The Scorch Trials
The Death Cure
The Kill Order (Prequel)
The Fever Code (Wikia)

Thanks for reading this, and I hope you enjoyed!  Please don't copy anything I wrote, this took a few hours to type out entirely (I wrote the descriptions too, ya' know.)  so please don't copy, thanks!

Blood Of Olympus - Quick Book Review

Recently on 10/7/14, The Blood Of Olympus was released.  Today as my official second post as the owner of this blog, I decided I would write my personal review on the most recent and final Percy Jackson book, The Blood Of Olympus.

Please be aware that there might be spoilers so if you haven't read it yet, be careful of what you read.

Anyway, First off, I personally was disappointed to hear that there would be no Percy/Annabeth POV's.  This made me feel just wrong while reading the book.  We've never gone without a Percy Jackson And The Olympian's book or a Hero's Of Olympus book without a Percy/Annabeth POV.  I feel as though Riordan got to caught up with writing the Nico and Reyna chapters that he forgot about Percy and Annabeth.  I kind of even forgot that they were still there sometimes.  They felt like side characters, and with this I was very disappointed.

Second, I believe that the ending of The Blood Of Olympus was very close to my imagination of perfect.  Of course it would have been better with a Percabeth ending, but a certain favorite author of mine forgot a certain POV... but yeah.  I don't want to spoil anything if you haven't read it yet, but the ending was very cute, it almost seemed poetic.

Unfortunately, that's all for now.  I'm going to update this post a little more in the future, but I'm really tired for tonight.  I've spent most of the day trying to fix some of the problems you guys have been saying in the comments, so just be aware that I'm always aware of every comment.

Thanks guys, see you next time.  Bye!

The New Owner, M!

Hello everyone! As You've probably heard, the old owner, James Junkers, has decided to give away his blog.  My name is M (it's a nickname) and I now own the Percy Jackson Fans Unite blog, and I just wanted to introduce myself to all of you.  I hope to continue running the blog for as long as I can, and I hope to post pretty often.  As you may know, I have to change a few tiny little things in the layout such as putting my email so you all can contact me if you want to.  Because of this, don't be alarmed to see the layout of the blog change a little.  But other then that I will not be changing much, so no worries.  That's all for now.  <3

My Official Last Post!

If you have not heard, please go here (http://percyjacksonforlife.blogspot.com/2014/09/sad-news.html#comment-form) to read about how you can own my blog. I have received a few responses, but am still open for more. Comment on that post if you are interested (include your email address!).

As for me, the journey is over. 7 years of my life have been invested into Percy Jackson. And it's all over. I finished The Blood of Olympus last night, and just couldn't stop myself from being upset. It's done. No more. Yeah, we may get a crossover book here or there, but Rick is going to move on to bigger and better things.

But, I will make one last prediction (no spoiler included). Somewhere in The Blood of Olympus, it talks about Annabeth's family, and she mentions she has an uncle in Boston. I remember reading that Magnus Chase will take place in Boston, so I assume this was a little cameo put in by Riordan. I believe that Magnus will be Annabeth's cousin. (you heard it here first folks!)

To my readers, my friends: Thank you for the journey. Waiting for these books would have been impossible without you guys. I wish you good luck on your endeavors, and hope you all continue to read my blog after I give it away. And if you are a devote reader, please consider entering for a chance to win. You can do it! I need someone great!

Crossover Book 3!

Rick Riordan just made a blog post (http://rickriordan.blogspot.com/2014/06/a-news-round-up-from-athena-house.html) that details a lot of dates, new projects, etc.

The most important of which appears towards the end, where Rick announces he is in the works to make a third Percy Jackson - Kane Chronicles Crossover, which shall be released in the future. It will include Percy, Annabeth, Sadie, and Carter!

Also, when The Blood of Olympus comes out, the end will give some insight to the new Norse Mythology Series! We will get the title and a brief synopsis! Also on that date, The Lost Hero graphic novel will be released.

Finally, I am (like last year) going away for the summer. This may be my last post for a while (as in until the end of August). So, have a great summer everyone.

And don't forget, on August 19, Percy Jackson's Greek Gods comes out!

The Blood of Olympus Cover!

Revealed today...

Hmm, it definitely has a different feel to it than the past covers...it's just different. It seems like it's depicting the final battle scene. Oddly enough, Percy isn't on the cover. It seems like it's Jason (with the lightning), Frank (with the bow), and Hazel (with Arion). In the back, that might be the Argo II, but I'm not sure. I hope the cover will grow on me, but as of now, it's definitely not one of the best...

Next Tuesday, May 20, The Staff of Serapis e-book standalone comes out, which will include a sneak peak at The Blood of Olympus!

Monday, May 12, 2014

Nico POV!

I know I haven't been posting.
I know I have been an awful blog author.
And I know I will not be posting for a while due to AP tests.

But I hope this can make up for it....possibly the greatest news that has ever reached the fandom!

That one word just made this wait so much more worth it.
After all this time, we will get to read a Nico POV!

The Staff of Serapis Review!

First off, this will not contain any major spoilers for The Staff of Serapis..the book is only so big, there's not much to talk about anyways.

Now, I'd like to start off by saying that I enjoyed the book, probably more so than I did The Son of Sobek. It had a clear plot line, and as with all of Riordan's books had a clear cliffhanger. He left room for their to be another sequel to this book, which is great!

I think Annabeth and Sadie connected well. They are a good duo in my opinion. But there is one thing in this book that I couldn't get past, and couldn't understand.

When was it taking place? It stated that it was weeks after the events of The Son of Sobek, and I believe The Son of Sobek took place after The Last Olympian, but that makes no sense. There are clear references to events that occurred during The Heroes of Olympus series, such as

  • Battling the giants (plot of The Heroes of Olympus)
  • Battling Chaos (The House of Hades)
  • People turning into animals (Frank, The Heroes of Olympus)
  • Specific quotes from Frank (The Lost Hero)
  • Yankee hat not working (The Lost Hero)
  • Argo II (The Heroes of Olympus)
It just doesn't make sense time-wise, and I got really annoyed by that. Anyways, if you haven't read it yet, don't worry, and if you have to, you can wait until May. It's nothing spectacular.

Thanks for Reading!

The Magisterium series - The Iron Trial

Seaweed Brain

Twelve-year-old Callum Hunt has grown up knowing three rules by heart. Never trust a magician. Never pass a test a magician gives you. And never let a magician take you to the Magisterium.

Call is about to break all the rules. And when he does, his life will change in ways he can’t possibly imagine.

The Magisterium series is a five-book series of fantasy novels, one book for each year of Call’s life between twelve and seventeen, co-written with Holly Black (author of The Spiderwick Chronicles and the Modern Faerie Tale series) about Call Hunt and his adventures. The first book, The Iron Trial, will be published by Scholastic Books September 9, 2014.

The Iron Trail cover was released today and without further ado, here it is:

I have honestly got to say I really like this cover and I cannot wait to read it. It will be fun to read a story by Cassandra Clare that doesn't involve Shadowhunters. Don't get me wrong, I love the series but this will be a good break from it :) I also must now read the Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black before this comes out. So much reading to get done.

What's on your to-read list and will you be reading this book when it is released on September 9th. Comment below or email me at multifandom.network@gmail.com :)

The Staff of Serpais Cover Reveal Date!

James Junkers

The Staff of Serapis cover is set to be revealed this Thursday, April 3!

The Staff of Serapis (a Annabeth Chase, Sadie Kane crossover) is set to release Tuesday, April 8, as a bonus to The Mark of Athena paperback edition. The standalone e-book/audio-book is set to be released on May 20.

Here is the synopsis of The Staff of Serapis:

In this adventure, Annabeth encounters more oddities in the subway than usual, including a two-headed monster and a younger blond girl who reminds her a little of herself...
This is the story fans have asked for, in which Annabeth Chase teams up with Sadie Kane. The demigod daughter of Athena and the young magician from Brooklyn House take on a larger-than-life foe from the ancient world. Perhaps even more disturbing than the power-hungry god they encounter is the revelation that he is being controlled by someone-someone all too familiar to Sadie. The audio narration was recorded by Rick Riordan himself.
For a preview of the book: Click Here

Most likely, the publisher is doing a very similar thing to The Son of Sobek release. If you don't remember, The Son of Sobek was released as a bonus in the paperback edition of The Serpent's Shadow. When it was released later, as a standalone, we got our first preview of The House of Hades, and we were able to read the first chapter. The first chapter was then released for public viewing later in June. I would assume when The Staff of Serapis standalone is released, we will get our first look at The Blood of Olympus!

Divergent Movie Review!

James Junkers

I'm not usually one for writing movie reviews, but after seeing one like this, you have to, right? Anyways, I'd like to start off by saying the movie was fabulous! Everything I say here is just me being annoying, but in reality, the movie was great!

Naturally, being a fairly long movie (over two hours), it needed to be about ten times longer :D. Every time it got up to a point where something should have been said (should of as in it was in the book), and it wasn't, I cringed...Veronica Roth wrote every piece of dialog perfectly in Divergent, and I hated for anything to be taken out. But, movies can't be 10 hours long, so I guess it had to be done.

One thing I really wasn't too fond of was Eric...I (I'm not sure about you guys) thought Eric would be much more ruthless than he was portrayed. Yes, he was insane (*cough* Christina over the pit scene *cough*), but I think there was more to him.

I think besides that, however, all of the characters were portrayed perfectly. The actors really represented who they were supposed to be. One of which I have to point out is Jeanine Matthews - thank you to Kate Winslet for being amazing!

Anyways, that's all I have to say about that, let me know your opinions below!
