First of all, you still have a chance to enter for a chance to win a free copy of Demigods and Monsters: The Expanded Edition...if you still want to enter, you are running out of time!
Now that we have that out of the way, I have thought for a while about what I would do for this post - I can't really think of anything Percy Jackson related that has to be posted right now - except that The Sea of Monsters comes out August 7! - so I am going to post about my first experience with Percy Jackson.
I think my first, or second post was about the same thing, but I doubt I had more than one or two readers back then, so I am going to attempt to do this again!
I was in sixth grade - my first year of middle school. I hated my E.L.A. teacher....hated her. She announced that we were going to begin reading a new book - I just got annoyed - while I do like reading (and did back then, to an extent, as well), I hate reading school books - they just aren't good, most of the time. Anyways, she gives us a book - The Lightning Thief - and I get kind of happy. I knew, back then, that I loved Greek Mythology, and she said this book pertained to it.
We read it together in class, and we eventually got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. I went home that day, and read ahead - something I rarely, if ever, did. By the time the class was about half-way done with the book, I had finished it. I think I even told my teacher. Then, I found the one class copy of The Sea of Monsters, and began reading it. By the time the class had finished The Lightning Thief, I had already finished The Sea of Monsters. Then, I ran to the store, bought The Titan's Curse, read it, bought The Battle of the Labyrinth, read it, and had to wait for The Last Olympian to come out.
Fun story....not really :D
Anyways, here is my current ranking of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians/Heroes of Olympus Books
- The Battle of the Labyrinth
- The Last Olympian
- The Son of Neptune
- The Lost Hero
- The Lightning Thief
- The Mark of Athena
- The Titan's Curse
- The Sea of Monsters
Thanks for Reading, and Have a Great Summer!
